Examples @ Timeless Tributes

The tribute you will see below is written about two fictitious characters, George and Annie who are celebrating their Golden Wedding Anniversary. I have imagined that a group of their long time friends have asked me to write a tribute for them and have given me the following information.

Names: George and Annie
Occasions: Golden wedding anniversary
Children: One boy and twin girls
Grandchildren: Six
Hobbies: George likes fishing and Annie loves baking and walking her dogs Woody and Oscar in the Yorkshire Dales.
Other offered information: Annie's cakes are delicious. George likes to exaggerate about his fishing conquests. They are a very happy and well matched couple although they married young after a very short courtship and a lot of people tried to dissuade them at the time.

STILL GOING STRONG

Many years ago at the local dance,
Your two fluttering hearts began a whirlwind romance.
When you married your families were aghast,
You were both so young, folk said it wouldn't last.
But fifty years later those people were proved wrong,
Dear friends George and Annie, you're still going strong.

Stephen was your first born then came the twins,
Two little girls with mischievous grins.
You must be so proud, your hearts must surely soar,
Your children are a credit, you couldn't have done more.
Now an exciting new storyline,
Six wonderful grandchildren all doing fine.

Annie your cakes claim the highest score,
Aptly labelled heavenly - they're to die for!
Oscar and Woody keep you fit walking in the Dales,
And George you keep us laughing with your fishing tales.
How big was that fish, the one you set free?
Of course we believe you George, really, honestly!

On a serious note, you both got a catch,
When you hooked each other - a perfect match.
Passed happy times are your chrysalis,
To open at leisure and fondly reminisce
This day will be, one more memory to hold,
A special place in your hearts - one of solid gold.
